چکیده

The utilization and application of commercially available semiconductor devices in high reliability spacesystems requires a thorough understanding of not only thereliability and failure mechanisms associated with the selecteddevices, but alsoof qualification and characterization methodsto determine the suitability of these devices to the intendedapplication. This paper provides a description of commonreliability and qualification practices and methods related to the utilization of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)microelectronics in critical space applications.
